Compare the images and note how far the cloud traveled. To do this, note that the images have a latitude and longitude grid where the distance between each pair of latitude or longitude lines represent 10°. For the circle of latitude that passes through the volcano, each degree of longitude is equal to 108 km.
(Since the distance traveled north – south is not as great as the distance traveled east – west, we will disregard that distance for this section.)
